Badger3 System: Functionality
The key to the power of this system lies in its flexibility. End users can create their own local data-sets and mix and match which modules are included in their final system. The modules that make up the Badger System are as follows:
wPatient Details. The General Patient Details module allows the user to enter any patient data item that occurs only once for each patient. For example, the patients name and demographic details along with details of family members etc.
wPatient Notes. This module covers all the functionality required to enter and view time-based and coded patient notes records for all information throughout the patients stay.
wDerived data. This module runs quietly in the background to create derived data items from both the general patient details and the patient notes as they are entered and edited by the users. It allows you to create complete "hidden" data-sets in parallel to the normal entered data items for each patient. This is particularly useful for creating data-sets for third-party projects.
wCharting. Provides full electronic charting functionality. Real-time physiological monitoring shown as trend graphs, tabular data displays from automated (blood gas and lab results etc.) and manual (nursing obs. etc.) parameters.
wPatient Reports. Allows you to design your own intelligent patient reports for admission and discharge summaries, or any other locally required single-patient reports that might be needed. The resulting report is simply another "web page" for that patient that can then be viewed (with authority) from anywhere on the hospital network.
wClinical Knowledge Manager. This module forms a complete on-line clinical guidelines, protocols, education, and general reference library that is totally integrated within the system with intelligent links to the patients notes.
