Badger3 System: Clinical Knowledge Manager
The Badger Clinical Knowledge Manager (CKM) is a complete database management system for the control and presentation of clinical guidelines, clinical protocols, education, and other clinical reference material.
The CKM provides all the functionality required to allow you to author and publish your entire clinical guidelines, protocols, and other clinical reference and educational material in your hospital Intranet. Though it works within the Badger System itself, the pages published by the CKM can be viewed using a standard web browser anywhere in your hospital. This can easily form your units "web site" for internal use.
You author your own pages using any standard web page authoring program, such as Microsoft FrontPage. The Badger CKM then provides you with the tools to index and manage these pages, allows user to browse and search for keywords accordingly.
Along with "flat" pages, the CKM offers a built-in drugs monograph database, image database, multiple choice question set database, and reference range database - all of which seamlessly integrate into the CKM index for browsing and searching.
The CKM can exist on its own, but is particularly powerful when integrated within the Badger System. Patients notes codes can have direct CKM index cross references that allows the system to create and automated "recommended reading" page for each patient based on the notes already entered.
The CKM is seamlessly integrated within the client pages so users can switch between the CKM pages and normal clinical data views with a single mouse click.
